The 2022 Lugana Superiore DOC from Ca'Lojera is a white wine with greater structure and depth, made from Turbiana grapes grown in Rovizza di Sirmione on sedimentary morainic clay. The wine is made using a blend of 90% steel and 10% barrique, while a year of aging on the fine lees in 25-hl barrels with regular bâtonnage, followed by at least six months in the bottle, defines a broader and more complex profile. Ripe fruit and balsamic notes emerge on the nose; the palate is full-bodied, enveloping, and supported by crisp acidity and a characteristic savory character. A Lugana Superiore that goes beyond mere immediacy, designed for those seeking substance, complexity, and a Garda white wine with excellent potential for evolution.
