The Valdichiana steak knife by Coltellerie Berti is an object that speaks volumes. Its slightly generous proportions and smooth, forged blade make it ideal for cutting large pieces of meat, ensuring a clean, precise cut that respects the structure of the food, without tearing or altering the flavor. The design is inspired by a knife depicted in the painting "The Supper at Emmaus" by Jacopo da Pontormo, now housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence: not simply an aesthetic reference, but a functional reinterpretation of a Renaissance icon applied to the contemporary table. Each blade is crafted from stainless steel and hand-sharpened according to the Berti artisanal method, a three-step process that creates a balanced, durable cutting edge designed for everyday use. Over time, the cutting edge wears in a controlled manner, maintaining consistent performance and a consistently smooth cutting sensation. The full tang ensures solidity, balance, and structural continuity between blade and handle, a distinctive element of high-end artisan cutlery. The set includes six 14.1 cm steak knives and is available in three handle options, each with its own distinct identity: cream methacrylate, luminous and durable; black methacrylate, simple and contemporary; and polished Cornotech, a technical resin that recalls the nuances of natural horn with greater uniformity and durability.
